March 11, 1996 - Washington, D.C.- The Home Automation Association presented its
"Mark of Excellence" Awards, co-sponsored by H.A. Pro and Electronic
House Magazines, on March 4, 1996 during the Associations 3rd Annual Management
Conference in San Diego.
"HAA's Award Program is designed to recognize the best of these innovators
according to industry experts," noted Duane Paulson, HAA Awards Chairman.
The judges for the 1996 Mark of Excellence Showcase Awards included: Bill Bassett
(GRI), Mark Lockareff (Echelon), Lisa Montgomery (Electronic House), Dave Rye (X-10 USA),
and Kent Williams (Smart House).
The Home Automation Association is the trade association of the home control industry.
HAA members include manufacturers, distributors, dealers, installers and service providers
of home automation products. Home automation integrates lighting, entertainment, security,
HVAC and telecommunications to provide enhanced energy efficiency, convenience and safety
for homes.
